Anyone know of any? Not a major tourist spot. Not for vacation but to spend about 6 months.

I would imagine the most affordable would be on the Gulf Coast. Probably some very reasonable spots in Alabama and Mississippi.

I live in a city of about 30,000 on the east coast of Florida. Roughly an hour and change southeast of Orlando and 1.5 hours north of West Palm. Depending on your idea of affordable its not bad. Housing prices have gone up insanely the last 3 years but for being 2 miles from the ocean its still somewhat cheap I guess. Bought my house for 185K 3 years ago and its worth 350K today, (also put 50K into when we bought it). My guess would be that there is cheaper areas way north of Tampa and up along bama and miss.

You're in the Melbourne area, right? I like that area. Really any place on the beach north of PBC.

Yeah, slightly south of Melbourne, in Sebastian. Its like 25 minutes or so to the south. I'd say from Melbourne down to around Fort Pierce is my wheelhouse area where the population isn't out of control yet. you start getting any further south and the amount of people in the cities really goes up.
